Statistical Background and Interests:
Dr. Geyer joined OSU in July 2009 and has a joint appointment as a Senior Biostatistical Scientist in the Center for Biostatistics and as an Associate Professor in the Division of Hematology in the College of Medicine. She came to OSU with nine years of experience in cancer clinical trials and observational studies, with prior experience at Mayo Clinic (2000-2007) and the National Academy of Science through the Radiation Effects Research Foundation (RERF) in Hiroshima, Japan (2007-2009). Dr. Geyer is the primary statistician on a large multi-project, multi-institution grant in collaboration with RERF researchers funded through the NIAID to investigate immune function in relation to radiation exposure and age, including a project to develop a scoring system utilizing Bayesian network analysis models. Her biostatistical research areas of interest include development of methods for evaluating high dimensional and potentially correlated data such as complex immune function data and imaging data, longitudinal data analysis and analysis of trends in relation to exposure, and clinical trial designs for targeted therapy.
